Harford County Kicks Off 250th Anniversary with March 31 Gala, April 1 Showcase of Family Fun

A year-long celebration of Harford County’s 250th anniversary is about to commence. We want you to join us. The opening gala event will be held at the APGFCU Arena at Harford Community College on Friday March 31, 2023 from 6 – 9 PM. The program will feature Emcee Kristy Breslin, Honorary Chair and celebrated jazz musician, Kim Waters and Harford County Executive, Bob Cassilly.  The evening will include:

  • More than 50 displays by area arts, history, cultural and service groups
  • A night of Jazz featuring the C. Milton Wright Jazz Band, Kim Waters’ alma mater
  • Art competitions with professional and amateur artists from throughout the region
  • A photography exhibit and contest
  • Exhibit of local artist, Joan Hodous’s award-winning Harford County Barn paintings
  • Oral histories – allowing you to become part of Harford’s history
  • Wine, beer and hors d’oeuvres

And while you are there, become part of Harford’s history by recording a 5-minute story describing why Harford County is special to you. All of the recorded memoirs will be retained by the Historical Society of Harford County and also edited into a program that will air on Harford TV.
