June 23, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

On June 27, 1923, the name ‘Highland Homemakers’ became official. Before that time, the group was known as ‘Rural Farm Women’ and met in the afternoon to discuss and share recipes, crafts, handwork, recently read books, lending a hand to neighbors in need, and improving schools, community, and country.

Each year, money-making projects were sponsored with the proceeds being used to buy tools for the Highland Agriculture department or books for the library, to help pay off the mortgage at the 4-H campground, and to supply financial aid to a deserving 4-H member to attend camp and club week.

Join us at the Highland Senior Center on Friday, June 23, 2023, from 1-3pm to remember the wonderful times that have happened throughout the last 100 years. Light refreshments will be served. Contact Mary Washburn at (410) 937-5766 or strawberryblond48@yahoo.com if you have any questions.
