REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS (RFQ) # 2022-01

The Historical Society of Harford County is seeking a qualified vendor for the design, fabrication, and installation of a permanent public art piece to memorialize Harford County’s 250th anniversary as part of the 2023-2024 Harford 250 Commemoration. The theme of the piece, as selected by a public vote, is Rooted in History, Lighting the Way to the Future. Further details about the project and its requirements may be found in the RFQ document. A pre-application meeting will be held on December 15, 2022 at 6 PM at The Historical Society of Harford County Headquarters in Bel Air. The deadline for applications is January 13, 2023 at 4 PM.     The final location will be announced in January 2023. The preferred location is Bynum Run Park (715 Churchville Road, Bel Air).

  2. Will utilities such as water or electricity be available on the site?
    No, water and electricity will not be available at the site.

  3. If the artist wishes to include public participation in the fabrication or installation of the piece, how will liability concerns be addressed?
    It is recommended that all participants be required to sign a liability waiver, as is done with other public participation projects in public parks.
